What it costs
Priced by the area and the state of it after a look. A patio that gets done every couple of years and one that has not been touched in ten are different jobs.
John will be straight with you about the result. Deep staining, oil, and paving that has started to break up will improve a lot but they will not come back to new, and he would rather say that first than after.
Common questions
Will power washing damage my slabs or monoblock?
Not at the right pressure with the right technique. Damage happens when too much pressure gets used on soft or already failing paving — which is why he looks at the surface first.
Do you put the sand back in the monoblock?
Yes. Kiln dried sand back into the joints is part of the job. Washing a drive and leaving the joints empty is how the blocks start to move.
How long will it stay clean?
In this climate, a couple of years before the green starts to come back — longer on a drive that gets sun and airflow, shorter on a shaded north facing path.
Do you need to use my water and electricity?
Usually an outside tap is the handy option, and John will ask. He will tell you what he needs when he prices it.
Can you clean decking without wrecking it?
Yes — decking takes a lower pressure and a fan, going with the grain. Done wrong it furs the timber up, which is exactly why it is worth having somebody do it who has done it before.
